Nutritional Needs

Infant

  • Breast milk or infant formula contains all the nutrients required.

1 – 3 Years

  • Increased need in all vitamins, excluding Vitamin D.
  • Same need for calcium, phosphorus and iron.
  • Increased need for all the other minerals excluding zinc.

4 – 6 Years

  • Increased need fro protein.
  • Increased need for all the vitamins (excluding Vitamin C and Vitamin D).
  • Increased need for all the minerals (excluding iron).

7 – 10 Years

  • Dramatic increase in energy and protein need.
  • Increased requirement for most of the vitamins and minerals (excluding Vitamin B1, Vitamin C and Vitamin A).

11 – 14 Years

  • Energy and protein requirements increase by approximately 50%.
  • Increased need for most of the vitamins and minerals.
